As usual, Christmas and the holidays flew by. Tiff and I got a chance to spend some time with our family and friends. I got some very nice gifts for Christmas including a nice cordless drill, an iHome radio/alarm clock which works with my iPhone, an Onion desk calendar, and a case of Hoegaarden from Tiff! My sister Taryn visited from Alaska and brought me some smoked Salmon and Salmon flavored vodka. I don't know where she comes up with this stuff.

As is annual tradition, we played football on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year we had 14 people show up to play. It was cold and windy with a game time temp of 38 degrees. I even got my wish for snow as a few flurries fell throughout the game. We split into two teams of 7, one with Jon Zerbe, Duntin, and other Tulpy alum. The other with myself, Jason Z, Kris, Jason G, Donni, Marco, and Chad. Basically it was the Young Guys vs the Old Guys. The Old Guys jumped out to a lead, but that quickly faded with an interception return for a TD by Dustin and the Young Guys. We traded scores a few more times to a half time score of 4-4.
After half time the scoring slowed considerably. Both teams traded turnovers for a few successive possessions. The Old Guys finally broke the tie to take the lead 5-4, but the Young Guys were showing their endurance and speed and were able to turn around and match with their own TD. With one last possession for each team, the Young Guys pinned the Old Guys on the one inch line of their own end zone after a failed trick play on the kickoff. They sent pressure each time and forced the Old Guys to punt from their own end zone. The Young Guys went back to their proven game plan of running the ball and picked up chunks of yards before scoring the final TD, a rushing TD AGAIN by Dustin. Final Score -- Young Guys - 6, Old Guys - 5.
The MVP Award goes to Dustin. He had 3 rushing TD's, a passing TD, and an Interception return for a TD. Not to mention a few other INT's on defense. Congrats to the Young Guys for their victory. The Old Guys will be ready next year!

A group of us went to see Red 7 play at the Womelsdorf social club at the beginning of November. It's a night out with good music, cheap drinks, but lots of smoke. The smoke was enough for Tiff to call the whole this off, so she did not come out.
My "Red 7" T-shirt was the talk of the night as I had at least 7 people ask me where I got it, many more gave me looks like they wanted to ask, and one guy offered me $40 right there for the shirt off my back! I had to refuse all offers as this shirt is a one of kind at this point...priceless! Shawn needs to officially work out the shirt thing with the rest of the band before they are released. So keep checking with Red 7 on Facebook.
I did some video taping and Drew and Michele took a bunch of pics. Everything came out pretty well considering the conditions. Here are some links....

Tiff, Shawn, and I paid a visit to the Pennhurst Asylum and haunted house. We got there before they opened to avoid the long waiting lines. It proved to be the right call as it started to fill up quick. The haunted house was neat as they used many original items from the original state hospital. The neatest part though was walking through the grounds and seeing the old buildings. It looks as if they just up and left some 20+ years ago.If you can avoid the long lines like we did, it was a worthwhile experience.
Check it out...

Scott and I went to see Seether at the York Fair in September. I've seen Seether a few times now, but my first time at the fair. It was a little different atmosphere as there was no drinking at all throughout the fair. So the crowd was a little more mellow than usual. Either way the music was still good, and was fun.
The highlight of the night may have been the con-man working one of the fair stands. Scott and I played a game where you toss soft balls into a bucket. We would lose and then the guy would entice us to play again by offering us double prizes, our money back, all kinds of stuff. We wizened up after two tries and walked away. It was totally rigged!

Drew and Michele asked us to come to the Poconos for some fun in the sun. They have a very nice place along Lake Wallenpaupack. We did some swimming, tubing, and skiing. And other times we just went for a cruise on the boat, which was fun as well. Craig, Tracey, Michele and I tried our luck at fishing one evening, but came up empty...literally. The fish kept eating the minnows, but couldn't hook 'em. Tiff and I had a great time, and hopefully we can do it again.

The Reading Phillies morning game has become an annual event for myself and a few others - Jason, Allison, Shannon, Ben, Jocelyn, Mike. And we even added a few more to the group this year. We started out having breakfast at O'Grady's on Rt 61 and then it was off to the game. The weather was great for a change. The only downside was the Hammer closed after the 7th inning and we missed it!!! They guy working the booth already took off. That would not deter this hammer loving group as we then went to The Works to determine the Hammer Champ for 2010. Just as previous competitions went, this one went down to the wire....overtime. Check out the video to see who won....
