This year's annual Snowmen Special Poker Tournemant was held Friday February 26th. For the first time, snow even fell on the same day as the tournament. But that didn't stop the 22 participants in making the largest Snowmen Special to date. The action got started just after 8pm, with the players split over 3 tables. Unlike prior years, where only a few people were eliminated before the break, this year was fast and furious. Table 3 knocked out the first 4 of 5 players! One of these players was Bill, last years champ. Kevin was awarded the $10 bounty for knocking out Bill. 8 total players were eliminated before the break, leaving 14 on two tables to resume play after the break. 5 people added chips during the break since they were low. But for the next hour, only a few people were sent packing. That was short lived as once the blinds started increasing in the 3rd hour, the action picked back up. There was 3 total snowmen dealt, and two were to the same player, Bob. The third was dealt to Pants, AND in the same hand as one of Bob's snowmen! A first at the Snowmen Special! Pants was also awarded the Bad Beat Jackpot for losing with his full house to a higher full house. The top 5 places got a piece of the pie, and I was lucky enough to survive long enough to make it into 5th, the same finish for me as last year. Eric finished in the top 5 for the first time with a 4th, same with Ken who managed to pull 3rd. Brett, who claimed he was making a donation, did no such thing as he took home 2nd and left with more than he came with. In the end it was Jason's night, as no one could touch him for most of the night. In the 6 six years I have been running the Snowmen Special, no one has won it twice. Who will it be next year? Here he is after taking 1st place. Thanks to everyone for coming. Hope to see you next year!
