The annual Turkey Bowl was another good one. It was unseasonable warm as many played in shorts. We could not of asked for a better day. I notice as we are getting older there is less and less defense being played. That's not to say there wasn't any turnovers! Check out the pictures and the highlight video to catch some of the incredible action! Till next year.... Photos Video |

Tiff and I visited her Dad in Tennessee the last week of July. They were our own personal tour guide as we got to see many sites. Some inluded....
- Andrew Jackson's home (near Nashville)
- Biltmore Estate (George Vanderbilt's home) in Asheville, NC
- Cumberland Gap (Daniel Boone traveling west) at the borders of Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee
- Gatlinsburg (almost reminded me of a boardwalk town, lots of things to do with the family)
We had a bust few days, but a very fun trip. We will have to go back as there is still much to see. Along the way we stopped at the Smokey Mountain Distillery to pick up some more moonshine. They were giving free samples and got to try some of their latest creations - Cherries in moonshine, Appie Pie, and Grape. We also did some wine tasting at one of the stops in the Biltmore Estate. Tiff had to pick up a few bottles to bring home. We did a small hike to a place called Chained Rock in Cumberland Gap. A massive chain connects two rocks and overlooks a valley. One of our final stops was the Green County jail in Greeneville, near where her Dad lives. It is no longer in use and we got to take a look around inside.
Not only did we see some interesting places, we talked to some very intersting people. The highlight may have been the moonshiner from the distillery.Check out the pics from the trip and see if you can spot him. He's been shining since he was 13!

Drew and Michele invited us for to join them in the Poconos for a small vacation. It is a great place to relax and get away from it all with a nice place on the lake. That's not to say we didn't partake in some water sports, rock band, and great food. Drew made steaks which paired nicely with some red wine, and then blackened red fish the next night.
I was more successful at the water sports this year. Instead of skiing, I tried some sort of water boarding. It's almost like surfing, but with a smaller board. By the end of the trip I finally got the hang of it.

Mike and I played in the Rumble again this year. It was the 20th Rumble, and Mike said he's played in all but one or two. I've only played the last 10 or so. We had a good day on Saturday coming off the net tied for 1st, but ended up in 2nd place because the team we were tied with, beat us earlier in pool play. We came back on Sunday to start playoffs and faced Chad/Craig. It's usually a battle between us as we've faced each other several times in the past. It was back and forth the entire way up until 10-10. We were able to get some quick points and pulled it up to 14-11. But just as quick Chad and Craig got a few quick points and tied it at 14-14. We must of played another 20 minutes beyond that until it was over 18-16 in favor of Chad and Craig. It was a very good and fun match.
Tiff was there cheering me on and also took some pictures and video. Below is a video montage featuing a few different teams: Tim/Mike, Chad/Craig, Jason/Scott, John/Christian, etc...

The
1st Annual Madeira Bow Competition was held last weekend at the main
Madeira Compound. There was grilling, chickens running around, dogs, kids, bow
shooting, and other misc mayhem. I did not fair in the competition as well as I
would have liked, and will need to practice before I attend this event next
year. The Madeira’s a pros! Dale took home the trophy with Craig a close 2nd.
Check
the videos of the intense action…

Another
annual event which I try my best to attend each year – the Philly Bike Race. I
have a friend along the racers’ route in Manayunk, so it’s a good place for
headquarters. This year in attendance was Tiff, Jason and Jen Zerbe & dog),
KZ, Craig, and Michele. We missed last year due to my wedding, so it was imperative
to make it back this year.
I
saw a long-time friend Mark Mango at the race, who also graduated from
Albright. It was good to catch up with him as I have not seen him in quite some
time. It was a little light in attendance, but not sure why. The weather may
have been the best ever for that event.

One
of my annual events of the year, the Reading Phillies Morning Game (9:30am) was
in early June. We were light in attendance this year, but I am sure next year
we will be back to normal. Mike the Hammer was not there, and it just didn’t
feel right doing the hammer without him.
They
did introduce a new larger beer size – 32 oz. Needless to say, you only need 2
to set you off nicely. I was napping by 2pm.

Shawn
and his band Red 7 played in May at the Exeter Sports Bar. They packed the
house once again. It was a good place to see them and I hope they do it again
there.
Here are Drew's pics from the night. And it took me
a while, but here is some of the video as I did a lot of recording. Enjoy.

This
might be shocking, but I went to see Snoop Dogg in concert at the end of April.
We decided to go in numbers as we didn’t know what to expect. It was at
Crocodile Rock in Allentown. Tiff, Jason, Scott, Karla, and Michele went to the
show. We first stopped at the Allentown Brew Works for some good refreshments
before heading to the show.
We
should of stayed at the Brew Works longer as Snoop was not very timely in his
arrival. The website said Snoop would come on at 11pm, so we left the Brew
Works around 9 or so. Well, it was 11:30pm and Snoop was still not on, for a
WEDNESDAY night! He didn’t come on until almost 12 midnight, but once he came
on, it was good. He played a good mix of old and new, and also threw in some
Biggie and 2 Pac.
I
was fortunate enough to have off the next day, but some others were not –
Michele!

We participated in the annual Road Rally once again in 2011. This year we started in Lancaster at the Waterfront Inn. We started 9th on the day which means we had about an hour to kill before we left. Lo and behold there was a Geocache 450 ft from the parking lot, and set off the find it to kill some time. 30 min later, no Geocache and we gave up. It's not a good omen to start the day.
Out team consisted of 5 people - Jason, Allison, Mike H, Tiff, and myself.
We get started and make it through the first few stops relatively easily. However, we got a little lost between stops 5 and 6, and then a lot lost between stops 6 and 7.
- Roseville Tavern
- Helen's Corner (one local invited us and said - "Welcome to the arm pit of America." Nice guy.
- White Swan (a very nice place recently remodeled)
- Penguin Hotel & Bar (lots of Penguins with Grandma behind the bar serving Old Mill. Nuff said...)
- Reinholds Inn
- K-ville Hotel & Tavern
- the new Johnny & Hons (looks like it will be a good summer spot with outdoor patio)
We finished the day 53 minutes behind and did not win. The winner finished 7 minutes behind. Even though we didn't win on time, we did win for best poker hand. We got to choose a card a certain stops to try and build the best poker hand. Somehow we managed to pull a full house.
Hopefully next year will go a little better for us in the time department, but overall it was another very fun road rally!
